It's about how best to make sure the Big 3, or maybe Big 2 (they're saying one of them may go down the tubes anyway) survive long-term with a totally revised job plan and a workforce paid more in line with the times. The auto industry cannot sustain itself with the Union wages and benefits as currently structured. They won't be able to save all the jobs but they can save a majority, I hope. Otherwise, there will be NO jobs in the auto industry here and the suppliers will go under and on down the line.
They are talking about also trimming CEO perks. Rather than throwing good money after bad, the Big 3 is going to have to go bankrupt in order to save them. We ought to fire the asses of every CEO while we're at it. Bad judgment for years and ignoring the handwriting on the wall is what got the industry here.
