I have talked about the book "Angler", regarding Cheney's Vice Presidency. Almost finished with it now, there are some startling items in there. That the entire nation isn't in an uproar says how far we've come with our tolerance of corruption. I can't go into all of it for the length of the quotations needed, but I'm sure reading it would light up a lot of the darker corners. Our paranoia was warranted.

Cheney's energy group, the one kept so secret, went over maps of Iraq in detail, along with the beneficiaries of the oil being pumped - who was doing it, to whom it was sold, and so on. That was 5 months BEFORE WTC.

Remember the visit to Ashcroft when he was in the hospital by Gonzalez and Addington? That wasn't simply about wireless wiretapping, it was the Justice Department signing off, agreeing, that the Executive Branch was not beholden to either Congress or the courts during wartime, that they could neither pass nor enforce laws which limited the power of the President.

In effect, creating a dictator. And neither Congress, the courts nor most members of the administration were aware of this. Bush was kept in the dark until 1/2 hour before it was to go into effect. The Director of the FBI and the top 5 members of the Justice Department who knew about it would have resigned, as would many others who would when they found out. That's the only reason it was abandoned.

And that's just the start.
