That's one way of looking at it.

However, that means one has to personalize every action or policy of one's president and embrace it.

And of George Bush's flaws...which actions were so horrible that they require the changing of one's political beliefs?

Tax policy?
9/11 response?
Patriot Act?
Afghanistan?
Iraq?
Wiretaps?
The 1st bailout?
Immigration reform attempt?

When everyone says someone is horrible and everyone starts to believe it because everyone else is saying it, it's easy to be confused or fall in line. George Bush was hardly a stellar President but when everyone says he was awful I never hear precise reasons as to why. It's still the "chimp" bit magnified as far as I am concerned. He was terrible! Yes...because?

"Iraq!"

But we are still in Iraq and Obama realizes we need to remain there so...

"We shouldn't have gone there in the 1st place!"

And many democrats were convinced Saddam had WMD as well, so hindsight is 20/20...what else?

"He was a moron! He made up words and was a total idiot! Other countries hated him!"

And all our past Presidents have been geniuses with mastery of tongue and wit? And all those countries that hated Bush...how many now adore Obama and America?

Mmmmhmmm.

Bush lost focus after the 1st term. He lost his momentum and religion was taking its toll on his mind and hampering his inner circle from functioning effectively. This was fostered by the Grahams and others who should have been kept as far away from the Oval Office and Camp David as possible. Cheney was being shut out and Rumsfeld. Powell had his own agenda and that left Bush with Condi. She advised him, and had the same fundamental flaw in her own background - religion. Between the two of them doing God's work for the nation, the rest were shut out after 2005 - and the nation definitely suffered for it. But not more than the natrion will suffer now and over the next 3-1/2 years.

Obama's 1st 6 months have zip to show for it. Asides from printing up 1.5 trillion dollars to stall any huge crash and flood the streets with cheap money. The bailout and stimulus show no response beyond what time alone could be expected to do. Our biggest industry, the auto industry, is on its knees and has been reinvented as a ward of the state. We can look forward to a bunch of politically correct US "green" vehicles no one will want and fewer will buy.

The picture of Obama as the socialist joker may be in poor taste - but its unfortunately quite true. If the US doesn't learn from both parties mistakes and greed the US as a superpower is already will be toast before Obama's 4 years are up.

Less government is more. Keeping church and state separate is also important. Follow those two maxims and the nation will recover and grow. Obama is fine with the second one but is all wet on the first.
