Speaking as someone who understands the nature of facts...
You can twist them to say what you want them to say. I've seen it done many times. I'VE done it. I've messed around with figures (accounting type figures) and made them sing the song I wanted. Nothing illegal or unethical, but how you show them in relationship to one another can change how they are perceived so that the outcome you portray looks good for you.
You wouldn't think it possible with that type of number crunching. But it is.
