What I have my friend is a desire to open your eyes to a perspective that has clearly eluded you your entire life: How the profit motive in fact creates tremendous good in the world, not just evil.

Look around you in your home. What there has not been created in some way by a profit motive? The books on your shelf may have been written from the heart but the publisher and printing company that produced the books did it for profit. Yet those books have enriched your life. You read them while you sit on your chair, with your feet on the ottoman, getting light from the light bulb in the lamp. You play your music on a stereo that moves your soul, and watch TV that makes you laugh. The computer you write on using a keyboard and mouse lets your thoughts reach the world. The bed you sleep in and make love to your wife in. The telescope you look at the stars with and websites you go to for your science reading. The old DVDs laying around. The camcorder you shot priceless memories from vacations in your youth. The cars, planes and trains that took you to those places. Your favorite shirt and shoes. Your home itself and the many many things in it that are so special to you, all in some way brought to you by the profit motive.

It's not all a bad thing. That's all I've beend trying to get through to you and I keep hitting a wall.
