What about carbon capture?

Or some other form of atmospheric carbon mitigation? If something could suck as much carbon out as we have put in we could get back to square one. Massive reforrestation has been suggested, but it is not a perfect solution since trees die and the dead wood could burn releasing all that carbon. I know very little about chemical bonding or even chemistry in general but there may be a solution there. I've read certain farming techniques work well to capture carbon.
