It's survived much worse. We've had multicellular life on this planet for a half-biliopn years, and there has been microbial life a lot longer than that. We've survived asteroid strikes, ice ages, continental drift, major lava outflows, and the earth abideth.

Now. whether civilization will be able to adjust to these fluctuations is something else entirely.
