Re: Re: Re: there is no left

The sad thing is this is what entertainment has done as well. The reduction in vocabulary, in the ability of people to express themself precisely with words is failing. One struggles to communicate with today's generation under 30. The words one uses have no meaning, because their vocabulary is extremely limited. The 'sup ho' and 'be-atch' lingo replace words like conservative or propaganda which **literally** have absolutely no meaning to them - because no one ever taught them these words and they had no interest in anything other than games, chat rooms, television, ipods, Wiis, playstations, gameboys, Nintendo DS and whatever other brain retardants have been used against them and which consumed the majority of any 'free' time.

Just *reading* Orwell is nearly impossible for this new generation. Too many big words. Too many words that have no meaning. A sentence from old books looks like this:

The hdifeofh was alfnfqbff and wfrjwbhfq fnnwlw so what else could fewqnqh think?

I see it more and more in the people around me. I find myself having to define words I use in normal conversation for older kids or 'exchange' them for dumbed down words for twenty-somethings and older. It's sad.

The Obama left wont exist in a few years. What replaces them will likely be worse. I don't want to be a downer, but It's hard to blow sunshine these days. The good side, which of course HAS to exist, is that SOMEWHERE in the world the RE-action to all this will trigger a new intelligent response. So it's not all bad.
