"destroying free markets"
Yeah and the insurance industry with it's anti-trust exemption is an example of free markets? We've gone over this before and you know it as well as I do that free markets don't apply to the insurance industry, perhaps until now. With the creation of insurance exchanges in this health care bill, and regulations requiring clear and standardized explanations of policies, people will actually be able to compare and choose between different companies and policies, and not be stuck with whatever company has control of their particular state or region. It's a far cry from a public option, but it does insert competition into the system.
