Pandemic and the possible associated breakdown is my major concern. I think in terms of 6-12 months because that is about as long as an individual group or family could hold out. After that there would need to be some kind of community.
I agree with what you say about predictions of imminent collapse. They are usually exaggerated as are the predictions of systemic collapse we hear from politicians. I am an optimist but it doesn't hurt to be ready to isolate yourself for a while in case of zombie plague.😁
