It's funny how not one "rock thrower" was hit by gunfire. It's funny how not one rock thrower was arrested, or even identified. It was all people who were hundreds of yards away, some not even participating in the demonstration, just cutting across the mall to get to class. It's what happens when you give loaded weapons to undisciplined, scared teenagers. And that is the most benign possible interpretation of events. I can imagine much worse.
I wasn't there that day, but I do remember the knee-jerk response of the redneck hardhat flag-waving superpatriot rightwing pro-war pigfuckers. To a man, it was, "serves 'em right, shoulda been done long ago", just like the line in the song. From that moment on I knew who had the blood on their hands and the rot in their souls, and I knew whose side I was on.
