There's a certain common sense that comes into play when around people with guns. It's a primal tool that keeps one's actions in check. No one in their right mind starts throwing rocks at a man carrying a gun...tempting their self restraint and mental clarity.
Folks who carry guns in the first place, while of vastly different temperaments all share a certain factor in common - they all believe in the use of firearms to stem violence and to protect themselves.
While no one celebrates the death of innocents...anyone foolish enough to protest near people with guns is not that bright a bulb and is letting their hate - not peaceful instinct - get them into trouble. I'd like to think it was just the acid and reefers that were responsible for the impaired judgment, but I know better. Hate of soldiers and the military by civilians can be just as deadly as hate of those same soldiers by an enemy soldier.
