Please read the "10 Biggest Oil Spills" post. In terms of things the ocean has had to deal with, this is very small potatoes. There are localized problems, to be sure, such as shore damage and problems for the Gulf fisheries.
Of course they'll cap it at some point. With the relief wells, if nothing else.
