Re: I meant to criticize your opinion.

What I found offensive was this statement: "Heaven forbid someone distract you, Eri and others from wallowing and backstroking through this tragedy, not to mention the “ I told you so” pungent smugness that‘s in the air."

The fact that I am heartsick at the devastation this is causing to lives of people in that area is not wallowing or backstroking, etc. I have a good friend in Alabama who works in the boat industry and his livelihood is being threatened and he is sick because of how this is affecting his friends.

As I have grown older, I have become much more compassionate and it breaks my heart to see people suffer, to see animals suffer. I can't tell you how much it hurts me. So, this catastrophe makes me angry because there are things that BP didn't do that they should have. They had no good contingency plan. When you drill in deep waters (read that as a metaphor, too), you better have a strategy for when things go very, very wrong. If you don't have, you're going to be caught with your pants down. That is just how the world works. With proper planning, would-be disasters end up as hiccups. From my reading, the MMS didn't do its oversight job, either.

This is not an "I told you so;" this is an "WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU PEOPLE THINKING?"
