Re: Salt of the Earth

Sea salt does have more minerals than other varieties, but as with "brown eggs," there's a certain amount of BS floated along with the product ("protects against radiation, atomic fallout and many other pollutants?") But it lets them sell dirty salt for $5.00 a pound, so what's not to like?

A local restaurant we like lets you cook your food on a salt-sprinkled hot volcanic stone slab. They brag about their shaved Himalayan Salt, and have those pink Himalayan Salt candles on the tables that spread "good ions" around.

I use a coarse sea salt to sprinkle on my microwave pretzels when I can't find the little package that comes with them, but that's for texture, not nutrients.
