"Uniquely Western Anglo Saxon"
I'd have to see an example outside of European and American academic and political thought.
Use the term "American exceptionalism" and watch to see where all the booing and hissing comes from.
Nations like Russia, China, the Islamic world and others firmly believe at every level of their culture that they are exceptional and have the right to be on the top tier. Whether they are objectively right is another issue. Personally, I'd rather see our nation's values and ideas win, and win with some pride.
There's a difference between a culture in decline, and one that has decided to commit suicide.
