National unity, and other virtues, rely on the foundation that a nation's citizens believe their nation is good, and deserves to exist and prosper.
We have a significant and influential subculture in the country that is dedicated to convincing Americans of the opposite.
Don't tell me this isn't so. I've been watching it all my adult life. We now have a president who is a product of this culture. It shows.
