ER had one good response: That was a pitch-perfect generic rightwing rant. But you gave it a couple of personal flourishes that I appreciate, like the "beaver[s] gnawing away at the tree of liberty". Man, that's beautiful gibberish! I second ER: Well done!
Another response and one I've used before would be to take your post and replace every occurence of the word "Liberal" with "Jew", and see how it reads. Yet another time-tested technique is to dig up a Hitler quote that roughly parallels your post and post that. In both cases the point is to illustrate your use of the reprehensible tactic of scapegoating.
I admit I started down that latter path once again, but lost enthusiasm (reading Hitler is soooo depressing); but before I gave up I did come across a quote that nicely encapsulates the intersection of two scapegoats:
But even more: all at once the Jew also becomes liberal and begins to rave about the necessary progress of mankind.(From Mein Kampf)
Remember, while Hitler and his minions threw every possible despicable charge at the Jews, the one that transformed them into Enemies of the State was liberalism.
To Hitler, as, clearly, to many conservatives, liberalism is a crime against the nation.
When you talk about people who think like me the way Hitler talked about the Jews, don't expect me to trust you, let alone agree with you.
Never again.
