Re: Food and Fascism

^...a vision of moral decay, spiritual devastation, and intellectual desolation.^

Now, exactly which ideological movement in this country represents these things? Which social concepts have created moral decay? Where exactly does "spiritualism" come into it again? And it's amazing that you can use the word "intellectual" after decrying anything to do with reason or thought in relation to politics.

The 1950s? Like Robert, you're clinging to the "racism" meme like someone treading water in the middle of the ocean clings to a floating 2 x 4.

A lot of liberals are in paralysis right now. The glorious political reign of progressive Democratic ideas is less than two years old and it's already wrecking the country. They either have to deal with that or suppress it. Most suppress it. Curled up in a fetal position moaning "Bush did it. Bush did it." Eyes closed, hands over their ears, trying not to see that the Democratic Party of Pelosi and Obama is most definitely not the party of the 1970s (I'll be polite, and not discuss the Democratic Party of the 1950s.)

How's that "new world" working for you? You're living in a nation now run by the same people who, back then, were marching against Vietnam, rooting for the Viet Cong, and telling us that socialism was the wave of the future.

People voted for a radical leftist academic for president, who unlike Clinton, is a real end product of that "new world." They voted, eyes closed, hands over the ears, replacing his known, documented history and ideology with his campaign lies and their own fantasies.

You complain that I'm pouring political stuff in here. You have no idea how target-rich the environment is right now. I drop just a small fraction of what I could in terms of real-world events proving my points, not just obtuse philosophical speculations and rants.

I was going to rub it in with Robert by going point by point down the various ideas and foundational principles of conservatism and "progressivism" so we could all see which ideology has more in common with the ideas of communism and fascism (which, despite decades of desperate leftist rewriting of history, were always two sides of exactly the same coin).

That I should have to is scary.
