Do you pay enough taxes to cover your medical insurance now? If not, somebody else will be picking up your tab. Keep in mind almost half this country pays no income taxes now, and the only targeted medical payroll tax right now is for the elderly alone, a small portion of the entire population. So, are you going to raise taxes on all these people?
Very few people have actually thought this through. Most leave it at "everything will be free for me and my pals, and it will all be paid for by bad people nobody likes."
"Layer of bureaucracy??" Let me get this straight: You want to reduce bureaucracy and waste by turning almost a sixth of the economy over to the government?
