Re: Obama
TB — (archived)

I'm willing to grant that he thinks he's doing the right thing, but the doctor who bled four liters of blood out of a dying George Washington thought he was doing the right thing too.

We are dealing not just with economic ignorance, but a firm belief in lethal ideas. If you think peppermint tea is a good way to deal with a cold, your belief might be wrong, but it won't hurt anything. If you think potassium cyanide is a good way to deal with a cold, we have a different problem. And no, a "compromise" of a mixture of tea and cyanide is not an acceptable solution.

The basic economic ideas promoted by the current leftist Democratic leaders have wrecked every city, state and nation that have consistently applied them. By empirical observation alone, never mind philosophy and reasoned arguments, that should be enough to make the point.

As I told Eri, we dodged a bullet with this last election. Assuming the Republicans remember that cyanide isn't good for colds, we might stand a chance.
