Speaking of immunity to facts...
Have you noticed that the Democratic Party is behaving as though the last election never actually happened? It's as if their loss of power was some mysterious natural calamity like an earthquake or volcanic eruption, unrelated to any of their policies, ideas, or any political actions. Most of them seem consumed with the "unfairness" of it all, or have convinced themselves that they simply did a bad job of selling refried Marxism to the American people who, of course, would all embrace it eagerly if they just understood what better minds are trying to do for them.
This group of Democrats, unfortunately, includes the President.
These people cannot learn. A major reason compromises with the current crop of Democrats will usually fail.
