This has got to be the dumbest thing, from a viewpoint of raw politics, that I have ever seen this man do. I'm not the only one who thinks so.
Clinton, left at the podium, ate Obama's lunch. Drank his milkshake. It was like the Monkees hiring the Rolling Stones as their opening act.
You could hear political advisors' jaws hitting the floor all over DC. The briefing was apparently an impromptu event.

Bet a dollar it was Bill. "You go on in, Barry, and dazzle the media. I'll just stand quietly behind you." Then he probably slipped Obama a laxative in his coffee.
Obama has practically painted a "PRIMARY ME!!" sign on his back. Remember the "3AM phone call" ads? This is that idea cubed.
