coke v. dumb
let's mark it down as a blind spot v. a sore spot.
First is a non-argument....Where's the proof? (Even an rightist American who happens to be dumb should see the irony in that...)
Second is just, well, sheer embarassment?
On the one side you get "The left would have you believe he's both dumb and an evil genius " and therefore neither counts. On the other you get "Well Clinton and Carter were so smart, and look what happened". This is of course as much a conversation killer as "Why don't you believe in God?".
On those with three hands there is also "How'd he get through Harvard and Yale without being smart?" and they just might be the dumbest of all....
