Okay... My Turn, I will generalize about the american right, at least in the context of this site. Notice that I have been saying things like:

"You are wrong because you draw a false inference"

and
"You are wrong because thats a strawman argument"

and
"you are wrong becuase your facts are incorrect/poorly interpreted"

All of these are True/False claims and can be defended. The truth of the matter CAN be arrived at.

The Right Wing around here keeps saying:

"You are wrong because you are arrogant"
or
"You are wrong because you are Robin Hood, and Robin Hood is bad"

or
"You are wrong because you are immoral, just like Clinton or [insert favorite boogeyman]"

All of these are NOT True/False (they are more a matter of opinion) claims, they are subjective, and the truth of the matter can NOT be arrived at.

So, who is the arrogant person here? If you even answer this, larry, I'll give you a dollar.

Once upon a time we had a literate society that debated and arrived at the best approximation of truth possible. Now we just have a bunch of hotheads who can't stand to have people disagree with them, and if people bring FACTS, LOGIC and REASON to bear, or even critique others on those counts, they go into orbit with righteous/religious indignation.
