It's easy to be smug and complacent about government power when you're an avid supporter of the current government. After all, it's only those who oppose the policies of the government who have anything to fear, right?

But try a little thought experiment. Suppose in November 2004 a Democratic Congress is elected. Even better, suppose also that Hillary Clinton is elected President, and inherits all the powers of the USA "Patriot" Act.

How would you feel then?
