You pointedly use terms like " affordable to the average person" etc.. in your post... didn't mean to ignore them........
My point is this..... 100's, probably 1000's...... of billions of dollars worldwide are locked up in sustaining the petro-chemical industry.
You only have to check out capital market value of the Oil companies and Automotive companies to realize that.
That is an Immense inertial force acting against innovative technologies designed to replace them
