something like 4\5ths of petrol prices here are tax.... BTW... miscalucalated petrol prices in converting to US it's more like 7 dollars.. not 10.
Two points though................ civilization here has not collapsed due to high fuel prices.
And it is more then possible that we in Europe... triggered by high fuel prices... are taking a lead when it comes too energy efficient\green technologies that the US might not be able to recover from in a decade or so's time.
One thing is ceretain... Oil will run out
