>>You compare a strand of DNA to a live infant.
I am saying that when an egg is fertilized a unique strand of DNA is formed. This unique strand is the start of a human life. From that day on, until a person gets out of puberty, that DNA is building a human- a unique human.
That unique strand is an individual. It is the first stage of a human life.
That first cell is human and it is alive. It is a life. And if you kill it then, you have killed someone.
>>Some people "can't see it", that DNA=human being, because "it" isn't there. It's a belief, part of a religious outlook, which you are well within your rights to hold and to cherish.
Wrong. Very wrong. If it is not human and no alive- then what is it? We don’t magically become human the day we are born. Part of being human is going through this first stage. All science.
>>I neither hold nor cherish it. Yet somehow I managed to sustain several pregnancies and give birth, and not drown the babies, even though nobody passed a law that forced me to continue my pregnancies. It's interesting that you seem to believe (if I read you right) that your mother would have aborted you if she'd had the choice, and that most women who are pregnant and can't keep the baby for whatever reason (not only single women) would abort without a second thought. If that's what you believe, your knowledge of women needs some fine-tuning. We're more complex than that.
So you are saying it is better to kill the baby before it is born instead of taking a chance on letting it suffer? Still not a good reason to kill someone.
You don’t understand that this isn’t just about women. There is another life involved. Until you realize this you’ll never see that so many innocent lives are ended short every day.

See, it is an Individual
