Death penalty

<Anti-death-penalty activists don't seem to care much what a murderer does after he's been released from prison on a technicality, either.

People who are against the death penalty are not automatically for release of felons. Life imprisonment is an appropriate alternative.

I would hardly consider release of a convict because DNA testing proved him innocent of the crime to be release on a technicality. If you mean by "technicality" improper investigation or prosecution (false confessions, planted evidence, coaching witnesses, etc.), we have laws against that kind of thing.

Yeah, yeah. No conservative has ever helped another human being without some liberal threatening to beat him to death with the fifty-five pound bleeding heart hanging off the liberal's sleeve. I know, I know.

How much of life is important if you say you're pro-life? A life is a life is a life, isn't it? Does Operation Rescue rescue 4-year-olds from living in the family car? How many anti-abortion organizations follow up 1, 2, 5 years later with the children whose births they insist on? How many follow up with the mothers? Just wondering.

One would assume such laws would include waivers for medical emergencies where such permission could not be reasonably obtained beforehand.

Never assume such a thing. Legislation will have to be watched to make sure such provisions are included.

I say this because I have heard people say, with my own ears, that any exception is murder. So it's OK to force a 14-year-old to give birth to her sibling, because the baby's life is sacred even though her life is apparently trash.

Colonoscopy is an equal opportunity procedure.

With all due respect to men defending their families, the main predator human societies have had to worry about over the last several millennia is other humans. The species can continue without intraspecies violence (though only if everyone agrees). It can't continue without birth.
