<Actually, it must seem like deja vu to you. The way you rail against universities, pointy-headed professors, and academics in general indicates rather strongly you had baaad university experiences.
Were your grades really that bad?
They weren't scintillating, I admit, but I was in the wrong field. My personal experiences were not that bad, but I did a lot of observing about how some academics think. Particularly the professional ones. It's worth clarifying that I found those in the engineering and physics areas to be quite reasonable. It's the ones in the "fuzzy subjects" that tended to be a few bricks shy of a load.
Your protests indicate extreme displeasure at anyone with an advanced degree. Is degree-envy akin to penis envy?
Wow...lends a whole new meaning to "bachelor's degree." In any case, I never said that I was hostile towards anyone with a degree, but only toward certain leftist academic types that I think I have picked out quite clearly, and which unfortunately tend to call the shots at many universities.
Many advanced degrees indicate advanced knowledge and thinking. Others simply reflect scholarship, clever writing, and the ability to hoodwink other academics. Anyone who has hung around a college for long knows perfectly well which ones are which when they see them.
Don't worry Tom, I am told the size of your degree really doesn't matter. Your academic inadequacies are surely overshadowed by your large bank account and your enormous tax contribution.
Damn straight it doesn't, and damn straight they are. A remarkable number of highly successful people manage it without advanced college degrees, which should tell you something. And the lack of material success on the part of many Doctors of Fuzzy Subjects who feel that they certainly would have achieved it if the world was fair, probably has a lot to do with their psychology toward capitalism as well.
