<Hate to clue you, dear, but emotion is more real than logic. Logic is a trained way of thinking, a construct, a frame of reference. Love, hate and fear are inborn, found in everyone, from the very young to the very old. They form the basis of the human psyche. Ask Psyche herself what her world was like when Eros left.
Emotions may be real, even desirable, but they are not a very reliable way to analyze the real world and arrive at the right conclusions. It can lead one to picking out which bottle is not poisonous by which liquid is prettier. If Psyche had been logical, she would have followed the rules she was given.
And then there are the secondary, or derivative emotions, those which are founded in the basic three -- emotions like courage, stinginess, generosity, cowardice...
These aren't just emotions, but a reflection of the philosophy of a person. Emotions are much simpler than this.
>>>Naturally, emotion is very unscientific and leads to gross misjudgments.<<<
Yeah, like running into burning skyscrapers to rescue people.
If you think that is due to emotions alone, you are gravely mistaken. Firemen enter burning skyscrapers in full knowledge of what they are doing and why, when every instinct is telling them to run out.
Didja ever wonder why, if liberalism is so darned screwy, why people still find it attractive?
Oh, like there's nothing else in the world that's bad for you that people find attractive? ;)
Seriously, the lure of liberalism is an entire article in itself, and depends on how its being defined. Not sure I want to tackle it.
