While the Munsch books do contain the usual smattering of political correctness in kid's books, it is just a smattering, and the broad, highly-original humor, irreverence, and wonderful illustrations far outweigh it, and make these books a "must own" for any parent. My kids don't read them any more--they were huge favorites at one time--but they are lovingly preserved on the shelf for future generations and sentimental reasons.
I had never heard of Munsch before when I picked the book "Love You Forever" at random from a rack, and choked up in tears right there in the goddam bookstore in front of a load of strangers. If you're a parent, you can hardly help it. I discovered the funnier books later.
You can get a whole load of his books bound into one hardcover here. Such a deal!!
