You're dealing with people who reserve the definition of words to themselves, not letting the world in on their secret.
They define "evil", as in "axis of evil" as that they think is bad. Thus it is evil for one person to be a suicide bomber at a marketplace and justified for another to sit in a tank and blast away at a market on a Saturday afternoon.
It's talking to oneself, which I sort of enjoy, to try to reason with some folks.
