I honestly wasn't trying to touch any nerves with that post, but I seem to have done exactly that. A testament to my poor communication skills.
With all due respect, the only ones who are currently saying to me "You're either with us or against us," is the left wing. When I question something said by the right, I get a coherent, often heart-felt response, but when I question the left I too often get serious attitude, which does not persuade me. That seems like a failure.
In response to Bowser's assertion that the Bush admin is going to start a war to get our minds off domestic affairs, I simply cannot buy into that level of cynicism. It smells like a smokescreen.
For a group who decry the use of the term "evil," the left sure spends a lot of time trying to convince us that our government is just that.
Look, I'm just someone trying to get a handle on all this...and one group--the right--is being sincerely helpful and honest. The other side--you know who--questions my intelligence and calls my posts bullshit...which, I gotta tell you, has a certain alienating effect.
ps. I think SDAI is a terrific writer, and sincerely appreciate any favorable comparison between his words and mine--though I realize he's out of my league. :-)
