Current Events » in reply to Assume I'm stupid

Summary - Points 4 & 5

1) There was no live local or network television coverage of Flight 11's impact into the north tower of the WTC complex.

2) On more than one occasion, President Bush has claimed he first learned of the WTC attack by watching a plane fly into a building on a television set at the Booker school.

3) If someone claims to have seen something which by all accounts was not there, then it is not unreasonable to assume that this person is not telling the truth.

If, for example, someone says he saw Jack Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald live on television, we might reasonably believe that this person is telling the truth, because (1) there was live TV coverage on 11-24-63 of Oswald's jail transfer, and (2) millions of Americans were watching and saw it too.

If however, someone says he watched the first plane fly into the WTC live on television, we might reasonably assume that this person is lying, because (1) there was no live local or network TV coverage of Flight 11's impact into the north tower, and (2) not a single other person saw live TV coverage of this event.

Footage of Flight 11's impact was recorded by a French video crew, but it was not broadcast until later in the day.

In addition, there are other news reports which indicate Pres. Bush had already been informed of the initial WTC crash before entering the Booker school, and I have posted one of those (by ABC's John Cochran) in this thread at least twice.

There is still some question in my mind when and how President Bush was first informed of the initial WTC attack, but I am quite certain he did not see it on any televison broadcast which was available to the general public, for the simple reason that there was no such broadcast.
