When did he know and when did he know it?

Tom has argued his case against some of the points, and not very convincingly, in my opinion, as we shall see.

For now, just consider this little gem reported by MSNBC's Ashleigh Bamfield and attributed to Booker Principal Rigell, describing how she first learned of the attacks, before President Bush went into teacher Sandra Kay Daniel's reading class:

"'I actually heard the first plane had hit from the president, and he said that a plane had hit the World Trade Center and that it was a commercial plane,' says Rigell. 'He said but we're going to go on, and in my mind I had created this picture of a plane knocking off some bricks on the corner of the World Trade Center."

And there's more:

ABC journalist John Cochran was traveling with the President. He reported on this very matter on ABC TV on Tuesday morning:

"Peter, as you know, the president's down in Florida talking about education. He got out of his hotel suite this morning, was about to leave, reporters saw the White House chief of staff, Andy Card, whisper into his ear. The reporter said to the president, 'Do you know what's going on in New York?' He said he did, and he said he will have something about it later. His first event is about half an hour at an elementary school in Sarasota, Florida." 'ABC News' Special Report.(4)

So, in reality, President Bush learned about the first WTC incident before leaving his hotel, and not from the apocryphal TV at Booker. In other words, President Bush learned of the first WTC event much earlier than his subsequent statement to Jordan would lead us to believe.
