A difference Bowser

Speaking out against a war is one thing, for that I'll stand and fight. As hard and long as it takes to keep your right to say what you believe. And my right to criticize that opinion.

However, when it turns into damaging property, interfereing with other people's ability to conduct business or go about their normal daily life?

That is another thing entirely. The line has been crossed, at that point you are commiting criminal acts, and should expect treatment as a criminal. If you believe this is Democracy, I vehemently disagree, it is Anarchy.

Anyone has a right to speak their minds, to the extent set by Law. They do not have the right to destroy anyone else's property.

I keep thinking back to the Viet Nam era, when young men came home to find people spitting on them, calling them baby killers. Following them around, pointing and telling anyone who would listen what they thought of someone who just came back from hell.

And I remember seeing the total shock they felt when those young men who were so grateful to be alive and home often objected, with vigor, and very physically.

I sincerly hope this time it doesn't degenerates into that again.
