ROTFLMAO!!!!!

"and not one of the Stalinists instigating this. "

hahahahahahahahahahahahah.... ROTFLMAO, <snirk> <guffaw>

Jesus tom, again- what orafice do you pull this out of? You really want to equate advocators of *democratic* socialism with a tyrant nearly unmatched in the history of the world??

In the end, why was 'Stalinism' such a hell hole? Because it was a tired old whore wearing the borrowed wedding dress of communism? Or was it because 'Stalinism' was really just a brutal dictatior, like every other brutal dictator, and all he wanted to do was murder maim and kill everyone in sight- and the time, place, politics and context of his rise to power made it possible for him to oppress and murder more people than nearly anyone else in history!

Stalin used state socialism as an implement. I doubt he really had no care of the 'people' - I dout he really had anything more than a deranged concept of 'the people'. Now, just because this wicked counterexample to all that is good in humanity USED a philosophy as an implement does not make the implement as evil as the wielder!

Just because you are philosophically opposed to certain political viewpoints does not mean you get the right to arbitrarily link them with mass-murderers. Some would call this the easy, cheap, even cowards way out. You can just label people and viewpoints ad hoc and not have to confront them or their values. This is the same crap as racism or anti-semitism. Ad-hoc classification with no empirical, factual or supportable basis.

Now, before you start the ad hominem, I am much more a capitalist than a socialist, but I at least believe that the *democratic* socialists should be heard just like you hard core right-wingers.

Even closet objectivists deserve to be heard and not blindly labled.
