Hi, Phil.

Looks like this design will only be using the Pu238 as electricity to create heat, not propulsion. The VASIMR group still hope to test it's engine in LEO soon (shuttle ride to ISS pending).

PopSci mag has a good article this month (p.62). VASIMR is mentioned on p.2. Covers a bit of everything relating to sending humans to Mars.
