It doesn't appear you grew much. The "can't justify the costs to repeat Apollo" doesn't change if replace "Apollo" with some other name, or change the destination.
You could also say that NASA will never have another "Saturn V", nor is it likely they will get a Shuttle C. Time moves on, doors open and doors close.
