There is nothing wrong with aspiring to shallowness. After a little bit of analysis one realizes we are all condemned to relative degrees of shallowness in an infinite universe.
It's hard to get conceited or feel superior to another when one truly understands and has a scope on exactly how shallow we really are and that we are always starting at new beginnings. As long as we are always trying to increase our depth - that is all that matters.
Truly envisioning ourself in an infinite expanding universe, and our expanding role in it, is humbling and inspiring simultaneously.
