Here. Or Matthew 7:1-4.
I don't see how you can dare to assume that other people's extrapolation out from behaviors they have actually experienced is inferior to the practice of extrapolating out from things people read about that other people have experienced. As far as I can see, you are an expert in engineering, the trials of the small businessman, and paying taxes. You also have experience in raising children and dealing with the consequences of a chronic illness. Everything else is based on what you read and receive through the other media, not on your personal experience.
I also laugh to think that you believe that San Francisco and its environs is an example of anything resembling the American average. You live in the capital of Ecotopia.
No, they aren't Mennonites, though there are Mennonites aplenty. Mennonites tend to do business with each other and have people arrested for swearing on their property. They also squeeze a quarter until George Washington screams. (Local joke: How was copper wire invented? Two Mennonites got into a tugging match over a penny.) I'm talking about the "Bible" churches. If you want a little culture shock, after living in an area where you feel smothered by diversity, try living in one of the classic "Red" parts of the map. You'd have to be here for a year or two before you finally caught on. Just visiting is inadequate.
You say I need to move. Why? So they can be left alone? Maybe you're the one who needs to move, so you can see the unintended results of some of the things you advocate.
