Where I learned socialism is an economic system and communism is a form of government which uses it. A Democracy can have a socialist economic system and many in Europe ruined their economies by coverting large portions of their system to socialist ones. Communism and socialism are not the same thing.
Capitalism is not fault free either. It is simply the best system we have developed. Idolizing it is silly. It is an evolving system that can improve or go down hill based on macroeconomic forces, concentration of power, and government intervention. Only by honestly being aware of its failures can we hope to direct its evolution in a positive direction. Believing it is immoral to do so just plain ignores past abuses of capitalism.
