You mean a lot of questions ;-)

Was the truck driver being paid for his time, while his load of sand was being examined? Was it his sand, or somebody else's?

It was somebody else's sand just like the same sand the other truck drivers were hauling. Thus the humiliation of the truck driver. If he is being paid by how many loads he delivers and his price per load is based on a number of loads he delivers he loses out by having to wait.

Does dumping sand on the ground damage it and cause it to be worth less?

Dumping of the sand cause it to be less in quantity do to having to reload it. All materials are of a specified specification to be free of foreign materials.

Does anyone at LL buy their sand elsewhere if it's late arriving because of a spot inspection?

If anyone means contractors no. All us contractors understand the new security rules and figure it into our cost. We except the inconvenience, understand their reasons and are happy to comply for everybody's safety.

My guess is that the Palestinians who had their produce dumped and searched were the owners, if not also the growers, of the produce. The dumping damaged the merchandise, guaranteed. The delay for searches caused delay in getting the goods to market, which means that the chances of making sales were greatly reduced by the searches, since many shoppers would have already made their purchases, and no one is likely to purchase the fraction of the goods that were damaged. They were not paid for their time, and they suffered additional financial loss due to the above two factors, as well as humiliation.

If your speculation were true, I would agreeto a point. The point I was trying to make is, every Palestine should except the inconvenience, understand Israel's reason and comply with their demands of inspection for the safety of everybody including the Palestine's entering the area.

If armed men caused you to miss submitting a bid on a job so they could do a spot inspection of your car, I think you might not consider it fine and dandy.

If I missed a bid submittal because of the above it would be my own fault for not allowing enough time for the unexpected. Everybody knows what the demands are. If the Palestine's don't I would be much surprised.

If they stopped and searched you because you are a Mormon, would that make you mad? If they did it to Mormons, and only Mormons, every week, because there were some nuts who are Mormon (whom, incidentally, you may not even know), would you begin to believe that you were being singled out and persecuted for political reasons having to do with your religion? Would that inspire more cooperation on your part or less? Would you take them to court? If you didn't have that option (do the Palestinians?), would you resist?

I don't see what targeting has to do with this thread. Do Mormon's typically perform suicide missions against a specific race? If yes, I would expect to be searched, I would not take them to court, I would hate my extreme fellow Mormon's who contribute to suicide acts and wish to take them to court.

It's very easy to accuse others of whining when one hasn't had to face the assumption of guilt until one proves one's innocence.

I have no prblem of being faced with the assumption of guilt like being searched before entering a secured area. Now if I was being accused of a crime I would be very upset. You are talking about two different things. One could say you are being accused of innocence and we want to search you to prove it, after all no crime has been committed.

It's very easy to assume that it's no big deal when one's frame of reference is incomplete or inappropriate.

But everybody knows that you are going to be randomly searched do to the extreme conflicts that have been taking place.
