I'd really love to believe it was the result of dehumanizing by the Israelis that led to their violent nature - but that's a nice little fantasy only the historically illiterate can buy into.
Before Israel, before any British or anyone - the Palestinian region was a land of highway robbers and bandits throughout the 19th and early twentieth century. The rest of the arabs use them the "riff-raff" as human fodder for the other Islamic nations proxy war against Israel.
Humiliation is the byproduct of willfully standing by murder and violence as their fathers, grandfathers and great, great, great, great grandfathers did before them.
As a culture, I'm afraid it's completely dysfunctional.

The Israelis and Palestinians are eachothers perfect dance partners; round and round they go religious fanticism and deluded sanctimony here we go. No one wins until they both address the fundamental screw-up of believing their religion is the "true" religion and realize that violence based upon such beliefs is insane and should've gone out of style a thousand years ago.
