What do you think thousands of armed troops on the border will do? Say "please" and hope people will stop? What do you think that thousands of desperate people willing to travel an illegal conduit on which they know they face violence and extortion will do, with their goal in sight? Shrug their shoulders and walk home (maybe hundreds of miles) with nothing?
