I just read this article in the New York Times this morning. (registration required link)
It concerns a point I've made before 'round here somewhere about many signs we are approaching the peak of world petroleum production. The article discusses the current, growing problems in the production of Saudi Arabian oil fields. Turns out they are starting to experience recovery problems and they ain't really discovering any new reserves.
Someday, I'll post a longer discussion of this very important issue. But for now, read this article, especially if you are one of those people who believes oil will last a long time. Sure, there may be oil production in 40 years, but not much. And it could be very soon that production cannot keep up with demand.
Enjoy yer day....
