It's about saving money, right? Why pay an American programmer $100,000 a year, for example, when you can hire one in India for $20,000?
Fine.
Why then should an individual buy perscription drugs from a US supplier when they can get the very same, US-made drug from Canada at half the price?
well, they shouldn't.
It's about saving money, right?
yup, I agree.
Oh! I see...when business wants to save money by going out of the country, that's fine and dandy, but when the consumer wants to do the same thing, that's a whole different kettle of fish, huh?
No its not a whole different kettle of fish.
This is exactly what my point is, forcing companies to pay thier empoyees a certain amount of money, will result in them shipping jobs out of your country, just the same as forcing a low price on a product will result in buying it from other countries. Thanks, you made a great point.
Its Canadas fault for enacting those anticapitalistic price caps on drugs. It creates an inconsitency, and in fact a weak link, in the market and should be explointed to its fullest extent to the point of breaking. See how long drug companies will allow thier product to be smuggled form those countries, see how much profit they are willing to loose, before they stop selling them there to begin with. Then the government there will be faced with the problem of not having modern medicine, and instead people would be smuggling it from the US. Give it time.

Justin
