re: It's a plan

I watched part of a movie yesterday in which ½ a dozen Navy Seals landed on a beach, grabbed their gear including a .50 cal, infiltrated the terrorist town, whacked their target, demolished a 4story building, jacked a Mercedes and took out an a six-by that was chasing them by firing an RPG from the passenger side window. Believe it or not, it got sillier.

Contrast that with Blackhawk down. A reality. I’m sure you know the story.

It’s been a year since we rolled into Iraq. Are we starting to believe our own stories about ourselves? Are we supposed to follow Bush’s lead and forget the stated reason why we invaded another nation, convincing ourselves that we always do the right thing regardless of how we do it and the ends will (probably) justify the means?

The problem is, we have no idea how it will end. And now we’re supposed to cast aside our “foolish” ideals and accept the reality that we control and are responsible for 23 million lives.

Iran fits most of Justin’s criteria for Invasion. If we now find Justin’s formula for justifying an attack morally palatable and we are now comfortable with invasion based on assumption, then another pre-emptive action against Iran should be much easier for us to swallow this time. Is that the plan?

I have no doubt that the Bush plan includes at least a limited air strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

My question is this: While bleeding cash, can we can we hold Iraq up with one arm and still fire the M60 with the other?

Tehran's nuclear standoff

Iran, why engage in double-speak?
